Named for the producer and author, John Golden, this is a small intimate theatre built as a home of fine plays of the 'artistic' or 'intimate' type. The Golden Theatre was built in 1927; seating capacity is 804. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District, home to over 40 theaters within a 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd Street to 42nd Street, between 6th and 8th Avenues).
